A fantastic value Oct 18, 2009 The Ryobi ZRRY46501 12 Amp Electric Cultivator is a fantastic value. It is powerful and durable. It tills sandy-clay soil with out any hesitation. It easily dislodges fist sized rocks and plows through roots and old trash-pits efficiently. After many hours of use, it has not shown any signs of wear and tear. Another brand which has received a best buy award from a consumer testing and rating website has a plastic gear which constantly needs replacing. The Ryobi Cultivator appears not to have any such flaws, obviously this website has not testing the Ryobi Cultivator.
The only limitation I have encountered are tall weeds and grass, one should mow prior to tiling otherwise the plants will clog the spindle yet even with the clogging, the Ryobi Electric Cultivator power is not diminished.

Mine Was Brand New - Love it! Mar 29, 2009 I bought one of these about a week ago and I love it so far! I was skeptical that it would have the power to do the job but I am happily surprised. I have tilled garden areas that have been worked for many years and had no problems at all. I also tried it on a small patch of North Texas clay covered with dry bermuda grass. I was impressed although it will take a while to break up the clay since the ground is packed right now. Being 53 and having not kept up with my exercise properly, the weight without adding sand is all I can handle right now since I have to lift it into a couple of raised beds. Otherwise, just rolling it from place to place will work fine with the extra added weight. I love the fact that I don't have to mess with gasoline and yearly or seasonal maintenance like a gas powered tiller!

Xlnt little tiller! Mar 19, 2009 I just tried out this tiller for the first time today. I am very satisfied with this purchase...It worked great! What a nice feeling to get what you paid for!

Comfortable Grip Mar 18, 2009 This is a great smaller tiller. If you have lots of tilling to do i'd get a more expensive one. I figured out that if your going through grass with lots of thick roots it's better to keep the wheels on at first and do the top 2 inches then rake that away, then do the rest. much harder to go for the full depth at once. Definately put the sand in the weight compartment.
